This is the voucher I was working on last night :)
I was very pleased when she said she liked it... for some reason I wasn't sure about it
The IT team has been calling me "Jenny from the Blog" for the last year. Today the whole team working on a project got caps with our nicknames printed on them... and this is what I was presented with :)
This blog has the most fab party photos
Hectic photos taken at car crashes in JHB. My brother has clearly had a bad day at the office today :(
Okay, this is stunningly simple (I actually feel kinda guilty devoting a whole post to it) but it is also stunningly useful, so, just in case you don’t know, I thought I’d share this cunning little secret with you!
If you ever have some champagne / sparkling wine / fizzy rot-gut left over (an odd thought, I know, but it does, occarionally, happen) and you’d like to save the fizz, then simply pop a teaspoon in the neck of the bottle. That’s right, litterally take a spoon out of cupboard and insert, handle side down, into gaping orafice of said bottle. Why it works, I have absolutely no idea (although if anyone does know, please tell me, cos I’m curious) but it just does. The next day you still have merry little streams of bubbles playing follow-my-leader up the sides of the bottle and when you do the right thing and pour yourself another glass (purely in the name of science, you understand) your taste-buds will once again be titillated by little bursting carbon-dioxide beasties…!
Hat tip to the gorgeous Annie for this – my angel, you are as clever as you are classy!
If you're a champer's drinker, here's a good one for you!
It’s been a hell of a day.
We had such big plans for today… I haven’t had a free weekend in ages, and I was going to catch up a bit, and spend time with the kids and their friends. Well so much for that!
Connor’s been ill for a while, and Lance took him to the doctor on Tuesday and he was given antibiotics and cortizone for bronchitis etc. Then yesterday afternoon it got worse. He had a fever last night, and again this morning.
So this morning, I took him to the GP again. This time, she wasn’t happy with his chest at all, and he still had a fever when she saw him. So, off we went to the local private clinic for X-rays. Then we got to see the paediatrician on call for the weekend (who happened to be the paed that looked after him in NICU when he was born).
The paed admitted him with pneumonia.
He’s on an antibiotic drip and is getting asthma type pumps too. Teh paed reckons he won’t be there for long, because it’s not that bad. And when he gets discharged she’s treating him with asthma meds for 6 months because he’s had bronchitis almost every month this year.
I feel like part of me is missing

I spent the whole day with him, but came home just now to spend time with Bradley and to organise supper etc. Lance is with Connor at the moment, and will come home when he falls asleep. Parents aren’t allowed to stay overnight at the ward

I had 2 deliveries to do this weekend, and a tweet-up and a picnic organised… none of which can happen now. I really hope my photography clients understand, but there’s nothing I can do about it. I have to be there.
